 Immersion learning is our preferred way to teach the drums. In our beginners class, we sit you behind a drum kit on your first lesson and help you understand how each piece of the kit comes under your control. Steady beat and tonality will be your goal. Our instructors will teach you how a drum solo is prepared and performed.

  • What is the cost of drum lessons?

    Depending on the the length of the classes, the price ranges from $140-$280 per month for weekly lessons.

  • Do I need to have my own drum set, or does Big Star Music Academy provide one?

    Big Star allows students to use our drum kits but, we encourage all students to have their own personal drum set. This allows for the student to practice daily and progress quicker. 

  • How long will it take for me or my child to get good at playing the drums?

    With weekly drum lessons and consistent practice, children and adults can play with basic proficiency as soon as 6 months. Each student is different, but 30 minutes of practice per day is recommended for each student. 

  • Do you offer one-on-one drum lessons?

    Yes! We teach private drum lessons in-person or online. Either class will instill a passion to learn the drums.

  • Do you offer online drum lessons?

    Yes, Big Star Music Academy offers online one-on-one versions of all our music programs in an effort to ensure all can enjoy quality music lessons. All students have the option to choose to take their lessons online or in our studio. Learn more about our online music lessons now.
